Rehearsal photos from Monday:
Tuesday 4th March 2025
Today I began the day focusing on my DNA cast and instead of spending the morning in the LRC we got some time put aside to look at the things that are stressing us with our tutor. Our cast for DNA has been having a few issues, as not everyone who is in our cast has been able to be in rehearsals at the same time coursing the group some issues when it comes to blocking and learning our tracks- so to have time to just focus on things with our tutor was really helpful. I previously was starting to get really worried about my DNA cast, but I definitely feel a lot more confident about it after are rehearsals today - although there is still worries I have, I know that there achievable fixes and that hopefully with a bit more focus and effort our DNA cast will be strong.
Wednesday 5th March 2025
Today we fully completed blocking and slotting together Normalised, having a really productive and fun rehearsal- and I'm now really confident and excited for the show next week, feeling prepared and ready to perform. We do have quite a bit of polishing to do still- but it's only small things that are a quick fix. There are some moments that we've developed more today within the show that I personally find really effective and moving, feeling quite proud of our team and the development that certain scenes and the show on a whole has had. I'm also becoming a better active listener as a performer and throughout the process of rehearsing the show, have found myself being able to absorb and hold onto moments and interactions within scenes instinctively in character instead of having to really focus fully absorbing whats being said. This is a progression I'm extremely happy with, as it makes me a better and more active in scene performer- as I'm more able to naturally just perform my tracks without having to keep my interactions in my mind and instead I can just fully emotionally engage without thinking about my characters feelings I can just instinctively portray them. I can feel this difference when I perform in rehearsals- and the progression I've had especially since Radium Girls. I still have a long way to go in feeling comfortable with my performing and my progression to getting to the top of my game, but It's really nice to feel that active shift in my technique and skill since first year and being able to naturally or quickly do things I used to class as bigger tasks or more difficult moments within performances.

welcome to the rock work
We started the session working on our group musical number for the showcase called welcome to the rock from the musical come from a away. We started this last session and nearly finished blocking it then- only having the last little section to cover, so we began the session finishing the blocking and then running through the whole number. This session we were thinking more about individual characterisation and how we are communicating the message of what the musical is about and whats happened that they are reacting to- just actively trying to breath more life into the piece and make it more emotional.
Rehearsals- Normalised
Today was the last rehearsal of normalised before show week, getting costume lined out and the smaller details sorted and ready for Thursday. There's still some polishing to be done when it comes to transitions and individual tracks within the show, but it's looking good and I'm excited to perform it. There are some really impactful moments within the show that I really enjoy being a part of because they are so meaningful and I've really loved watching the characters within the show develop as rehearsals have gone on and as things have become smoother and the depth has been found more within the scenes.
